Anto
A chronic bachelor, at 65, his siblings abandoned him for obvious reasons. Passersby found him lying on the roadside. They brought him to our home, and he has been an active occupant ever since. Though he struggles to forget his past, he has adapted well to his new life at Mariyam Veedu.
Annie
The young widower Annie used to depend on her son. He abandoned her in her later days. Marian House is her home now and forever.
Thankappan and Kochamini
This couple had no children to take care of them. They were brought in by the government officials who found them homeless. They were weak and devastated when they arrived at our house. They live happily in our home, spending their days in prayers and peace.
Antony Philip
Antony had a beautiful family, where he lived with his wife and children. As he aged and could not earn a living, his family abandoned him. He lived in a motel, trying to make ends meet before the ward counselor picked him up and brought him to Mariyam House. He is pleasant and always an energy booster for his fellow residents.
Elsy
Elsy was born with a congenital disability, and this made her a less preferred member of the family. She lived with her brother for as long as she could remember, but as he aged and his children took over the household, she was thrown out of their house. She is a serious thinker who enjoys her own company.
Geetha
A divorcee from a young age, she was abandoned by her only brother. To sustain herself, she resorted to becoming a daily wage laborer. The government officials brought her into our house, and ever since she has been an active participant in the daily routines at Marian’s home. She is an ardent music lover, and her happy-go-lucky nature helps her mingle with everyone here.
Padmanabhan
A retired librarian with no siblings or relatives had no one to care for him after his mom’s death. An extremely great organizer, he is extremely energetic and passionate about books and photography.
Ponnamma
She was lying in gangrene in a discarded house alone when discovered by the government officials. She had her fingers amputated because of the extreme infection, and she has been living happily at the Maian Home ever since.
Shanthamma
She was young when she lost her husband first and then her son at birth. She was staying at her brother’s house until one day, she decided not to be a burden to anyone and moved into our home. She is now one of the most active members of our home and cherishes taking care of others.
Shankarankutty
The oldest member of our family, at 96 Years old, was picked up from a motel with no one to take care of him. He was struggling to work due to his ailments and age-related issues. He is very loving and enjoys talking to anyone around him.
Thankamma
A true believer in God, at 84, she struggles to walk due to her age-related ailments. She is one of the most gentle. She is an extremely gentle, soft-spoken, caring, and loving human being who finds joy in the happiness of the people around her.
Lazer and Helen
Abandoned by their children as they aged and became a liability, this fun-loving couple found a home in Marian House. They walked in by miracle and have been actively participating in taking care of other residents of our home.
Jossy and Elizabeth
This ailing couple was admitted to Thrissur Medical College by their children, who abandoned their parents and then fled the scene. We found them when they were looking for an orphanage to spend the remainder of their life. This loving couple has been a great support to the operations of our home.
